Solar Farms New York’s three adjoining farms in Mooers produce enough electricity for about 1,200 homes in the North Country.  Located on Boas Road, the farms were the first community solar farms to be built by Solar Farms New York and interconnected to NYSEG’s grid.

The Mooers area has several Community Energy Partners, including the Town of Mooers, Mooers Public Library, Town of Chazy, Town of Ellenburg, Ellis Hollow Community Center, and the Peru Free Library.  Throughout New York State several volunteer departments and other community groups have received over $70,000 in grants from Solar Farms New York on behalf of customers who have joined community solar farms.
