A. You receive a credit to your NYSEG bill for the dollar value of the solar electricity allocated by Solar Farms New York to your account. The credit on your NYSEG bill is listed as “CDG Generation Credit” and is listed in two places: 1) the “Electricity Delivery Charges” section and 2) in either the “Electricity Supply Charges” or in the “Miscellaneous Charges” section.  Here is a sample NYSEG bill. A. When you join Solar Farms New York, we look at your historical electricity usage. Each month Solar Farms New York will allocate a dollar credit to your NYSEG account based on production from the solar farm and your total electricity usage (delivery and supply). The dollar amount you are credited on your NYSEG bill then appears on your Solar Farms New York statement with your guaranteed discount, saving you money every month

A. No. The credit you receive on your NYSEG bill reduces what you owe NYSEG for your electricity. Solar Farms New York will then send you a separate statement, reflecting the dollar amount of the credit on your NYSEG bill after your discount. The total amount for your electricity costs with Solar Farms New York will always be LESS than what you would pay NYSEG.
A: Yes, it’s easy! Call us at 800-641-2140 and we’ll set up your Solar Farms New York account with AutoPay. You will still get a statement in the mail for your records, but you will not need to remember payment dates and there is no action needed on your part. You have a choice to set up AutoPay with either your credit card or direct debit through your bank account. As a bonus, if you choose to enroll with AutoPay through direct debit you will receive an additional $25 credit on your first Solar Farms New York statement, saving you even more money.
A. Your Solar Farms New York statement will always be a few weeks behind your NYSEG bill, which means that you will have more time to pay for your electricity usage. As a community solar program, we rely on NYSEG to report your relevant electricity charges and the corresponding dollar amount that is credited to your bill. Whatever the amount of the dollar credit that appears on your NYSEG bill, the amount due reflected on your Solar Farms New York statement will always be reduced by an additional discount every month.
